District level seminar held at Basara, Adilabad District
Of the 100 High schools target in the entire 412 villages of the Agency area, in 78 High schools Vidya Vahini committees formed up to September 10th .
A two day seminar with a teacher and a student from each of these 78 High schools has been organised at Basara, Adilabad Dist on 13th and 14th Of September 2008, to discuss about the action plan for the year 2008-2009. 48 students, and 55 teachers from 28 ZP secondary schools, 22 Ashram High schools and 2 Sri Saraswathi
Shishu mandir High schools have participated in this programme Different programmes have been conducted in this two day seminar. To begin with, Sri P.Venugopal Reddy, Chairman, Ekalavya foundation has explained in detail  about the programmes that are being taken up in the fields of education, health and lively hoods by Ekalavya Foundation and the importance of Vidhya vahini project in High schools in the Agency area.

During the first day’s programme, Sri G.Ravinder, Secretary, Vidya Vahini, explained the programmes to be taken up in the field of education and health. In the second session, Sri. R.Manik Rao, President, Vidya Vahini convened a free discussion on the programmes of Vidya Vahini. The segment convenrs, Sri.Shyam Kumar from Adilabad, Sri. Sathyanarayana, Echoda, Sri M.Srinivas, Utnoor, Sri Malyasri, Mancherial, Sri Rangachari, Jainoor have given reports of the performance in their respective segments. Two teachers and a student from each segment have explained the course of action being executed at their respective segments and gave some suggestions.
Third session aimed at counseling. Sri G.Venugopal Reddy, academic monitoring officer, Tribal education, Rajiv Vidya Mission, Hyderabad was the main speaker for this session. He has demonstrated slides through an LCD projector pertaining to student – teacher relation which highlighted the concept of understanding between student and the teacher. He has stressed the need and importance of the guidance to be given to the students by the teacher, being the first counselor to them. The first day sessions were continued up to 10.00 pm .

In the second day a session was held on Education - The Role of students and parents. Sri T.Ravindar Rao, founder of Vandemataram Foundation has participated and delivered thought provoking speech. He successfully inspired the participants and stressed the need for encouragement from teachers for the improvement of poor students. He also urged for the all round development of educational institutions and the enlightenment of parents of such students.
There was a segment wise meeting in which they have prepared an action plan, which will be implemented through their own initiative. Both the president and the secretary of Vidya Vahini have conducted a discussion on the 2008-09 Action Plan of Vidya Vahini and helped in the preparation of segment wise plans.
Finally Sri Jaganmohan, Joint secretary of Vidya Vahini presented a vote of thanks.
